Giardino del Museo di Castelvecchio

The Italian version of Scottish architect Richard Murphy’s volume Rivisitando Carlo Scarpa e Castelvecchio, published by Edinburgh-based Breakfast Mission Publishing, is now available.
Arriving in Verona as a researcher in 1986 for the University of Edinburgh, architect Richard Murphy surveyed Carlo Scarpa’s restoration and layout with a group of students, under the enlightened guidance of the then-museum director Licisco Magagnato.
The texts were translated by Simona Manca and re-read by architect Guido Pietropoli, a profound connoisseur of Carlo Scarpa, whose student and collaborator he was.
The publication features, as in the English version, an extensive photographic campaign by Peter Guthrie and Matthew Hyndman, Alba Di Lieto’s essay on the changes in the museum in the 50 years after Scarpa, and a text by Ketty Bertolaso on the activities of the Veronese archive.
The book is sold at the Museo of Castelvecchio bookshop and online at a cost of 95.00 euros, including shipping.
